THE ART TUNNEL, DUBLIN, IRELAND
Formerly waste-ground in Dublin’s city center, the Art Tunnel was a community run garden which provided space for installations by artists and architects. Along with artist collaborators Fiona Gannon and Paul Terry, we designed and built a triptych of site-specific installations which engage with the existing structures and spaces of the Art Tunnel. These were designed to engage passers-by whizzing past on the tram, as well as those enjoying the garden.
The “Loom Seat” extended from “Weave” to create a space suspended between the boundary and the buttress. It was a temporary contemplative space which felt both protected yet open and porous, much like the Art Tunnel itself.
