BEAR MOUNTAIN STATE PARK, NEW YORK

Role: Project Architect
Architect of Record: BKSK Architects
Client: New York State Parks
In Collaboration with Starr Whitehouse Landscape Architects and Planners

This extensive, multi-phase, park-wide project was a collaboration with award winning firms BKSK Architects and SWLAP. We were tasked with the restoration of existing historic public amenity buildings as well as the design and construction of a new building at the trailhead of the Appalachian trail.

Both the new and restored architecture had to meet exacting preservation guidelines and ambitious energy targets as well as interact sympathetically with both the vernacular architecture of Bear Mountain State Park and the newly designed landscape.
