Described by one Landmarks Commissioner as “the most highly complex project to have crossed my desk in 30 years”, this project comprised the restoration of existing 19th century row-houses and the construction of a new commercial building to infill the center of the block.
The sensitive use of restored brick and custom-glazed terracotta screens respects the materiality of the historic district. The restoration and conversion of the historic buildings to retail and office use allows for these previously endangered buildings to be enjoyed by the public for generations to come.
